for performing a T-Test on the TI-83
1. Put the data for the activity into two lists, one for each of the samples being tested (L1, L2).
2. Press the 
button and the statistical menu will appear. Press 
and
confirm that TESTS is highlighted on the top row. Scroll
down using the 
key until you reach choice 4:
2-Samp TTest. Press the 
button.
In the T-Test menu, make
sure that Data is highlighted in the first row and the
Pooled option (line 7) is set to Yes. Use the key
to scroll to the eighth row and press
while Calculate is highlighted and flashing.
The screen will display the results of the T-Test. If there is a significant difference between the two populations, the magnitude of the p value (line 3) will be less than or equal to the alpha level selected (0.05, 0.001, etc)
